Recent Prayers used at St. Marys Elham

 Lord, we thank you for creating us out of the dust of the earth, and breathing your life into us;

Breathe your life into the universe; breathe responsible caring, honesty and compassion, breath right values and good stewardship, peace and reconciliation, vision and hope.

Breathe life into our young people, especially those in our own Sunday school, school and arcangels, growing up in an unsteady and confusing world. Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world. Help them to know your love and constant presence.

Gracious Lord, you are always so much more ready to give than we to receive, open our hearts and minds to live the costly way of love.

Merciful Father Accept these prayers for the sake of your son, our Saviour Jesus Christ

Lord, we give thanks for the hope brought to us by Christ's rising to new life.  Help us and all your whole Church to be an example of your love and try to show Jesus to all those who seek him.

  Breathe your life into those who suffer; for Frank, Jeanne, Ann, Kath, Anita and especially we pray for Jonathan and Monica, give strength to all those who are helping to share the burden of running the parish during Jonathan’s illness. We long for your living Spirit to envelop and sustain them.

Thank you loving God, for your promise to be with us always, and not just until we die. We remember with affection our parents who loved us into existence and now live in eternity. Gather up into your loving arms those who have recently died, Gareth Temple, and Peggy Bartley, Lilian Wootten, and Freda McDougall much loved members of the village for so many years, comfort all whose memories make them aware of loss today.

You gave them breath, and loved them through their lives, receive them now in your infinite tenderness and give them peace.

Lord in your mercy

Hear our Prayer
