Elham Anglicans
The 13th. Century Anglican Church of St. Mary the Virgin Elham exists to share with others the responsibility of meeting the spiritual and pastoral needs of the local community with worship and prayer education and training mission and outreachfellowship and social events.
In addition to the regular Sunday worship there is a daily weekday morning prayer at 9.00 a.m. On Fridays there is a 15 minute time of silent prayer for peace in our world. See the Calendar for Sunday worship details and other events.
We share with the local Methodist Church the teaching of our faith to children in our weekly Sunday School. Adult Study Groups also meet from time to time. St. Mary's has initiated discussions in a local pub or village hall, open to all, on important issues such as the environment and health, money and the media.
Mission and outreach is an obligation for those who follow Christ. Pastoral care, home visits, support of other organisations such as Christian Aid are all part of the responsibility we have to Church members and non-members alike both local and further afield and much of this is organised on an ecumenical basis.
